According to Chinese inherent tradition, the number “8” represents “prosperity”, introducing heaven and earth using a vestibule to create a rhythm of different materials and changes between light and shadow. They are similar to silky overlapping curves above the sky, external and internal dialogue and interaction, uncovering the curtain of this field from vestibule space.
Dancers walk gracefully in space from the vestibule arch to the Tibet prayer wheel shaped crystal chandelier hanging on the ceiling. Crystal light is reflected on the clean stone floor. The successive lines of the lamp flow to the floor pavement, drawing water-like curves. These elements extend to both sides of the display cabinet and the upper side rough granite (India black). The powerful stones are also transferred from this scene to the front entrance screen, vaguely revealing overlapping black shadow lines.
The showcase of steel and double curves in the ceiling combines both hard and soft features. If you open the black iron wooden screens, what comes into view is a natural landscape of a lush and beautiful surrounding. Through the French windows at this outdoor leisure area, one can directly see the other two regions of space blocks, the piano room and the study. Besides, the occupants often have business with people from various countries because of the nature of their work, so I engraved some phrases from eleven countries’ languages in the study area as a metaphor for worldview or the multinational business trade of the occupants.
As for the piano room on the other side, contours of the ceiling in this district are introduced from the entrance area scene because the planning area is located in the public domain. This smallbox is similar to a blooming petal. Besides, a top French light designer and manufacturer were invited to build this globally unique chandelier which is used from the dining area to the main living room and piano room. The flowing curves run to the back of the sofa in the living room and until the kitchen, forming a vivid mixture of straight lines and curves. In addition, the TV wall made use of natural marbles to express the accumulated changes of nature. The body of the wall in the piano room incorporates characters to present the owner’s name.
Inside the private domain, you can find three bedroom spaces with three different characteristics. They are different but with a common feature for the main wall is expressed using a pure manual material respectively. Such silence and movement are coexisted whether in wall expression or smallpox presentation details that make it fascinating. The study which is an area where the family members interact, wine tasting and cigar room are still remained in the public and private sectors. Moreover, light penetration shown by the pre-buried optical fiber inside the stone is quite interesting and it looks separate but introduces another situation into this area, mobile and quiet.
On the top floor, one can enjoy a wide panoramic view on seating areas which seem to be in a continuous flow. The lounges are placed for guests to rest after some entertainment and concrete walls made of bamboo and glass of wooden texture contribute to the outdoor bar’s elegance. These are all embodiment of the simplest interaction among people.
The two floors consist of four bathroom areas with different themes, but are all fantastic, gorgeous, and shiny. They become a feast for the eyes because of vivid shapes and images like the constantly swimming golden fish.
To sum it up, the concepts of a harmonic integration of words and images, pictures and characters, are the elements that make up this architecture and interior beauty. Such tangible word meanings, structural lines and intangible emotions exist in every space. This is my "symbol" which defines human emotions linked to the home.
